Subject: Need to swap my Saturday shift
Hi Desmond,
I signed up for the 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. lantern-lighting shift on Saturday, but my cousin's flight from Halifax was just moved up, and I now need to pick her up at the airport at 5:30 that afternoon. I can still help earlier in the day if that works better, or I could take a shift on Sunday instead if Saturday is already fully staffed.
I also wanted to ask about the request I submitted last week to work at the lantern-making booth instead of the entrance gate. I have done lantern-making at two other events, so I thought it might be a better use of my experience, but I have not heard back either way.
One more thing: a friend of mine, Beatrix, would like to volunteer as well but missed the sign-up deadline. Is there any chance she could still be added, even informally, if we are short-staffed anywhere?
Thanks,
Junia

Hi Junia,
No problem at all. Saturday morning, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., is actually still short two people, so if you can take that slot instead of the afternoon one, that solves both your scheduling issue and ours. If mornings do not work with your cousin's arrival either, Sunday afternoon, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., also has room.
On the lantern-making booth: I approved that switch on Tuesday, but I think the confirmation email bounced back because of an old address on file. You are now listed at the booth for both days you are scheduled, so no further action is needed there.
As for Beatrix, we can absolutely still use more hands, especially at the food tent, which has had the most last-minute cancellations. She does not need to go through the full sign-up process at this point; just have her show up thirty minutes before whichever shift she wants and check in with the tent lead, Ronan. We will add her to the volunteer log on-site.
Let me know which shift works for you, and enjoy the festival!
Desmond
