Task 3 · Requesting information about a course
Task 1 · Writing an Email — a realistic situation requiring a 150-200 word email: complaint, request, apology, recommendation, cancellation, workplace or neighbourhood issue
Requesting information about a course
You saw a poster for a weekend photography course at your local community college, but the poster gives very little detail.
Write to: The course coordinator at the community college · Semi-formal tone
Write an email to the course coordinator asking for the information you need before you register.
Write an email of 150-200 words. Read the situation, then write to the person named. Cover every required point, keep the tone appropriate, and organise your email into short paragraphs. You have 27 minutes for both writing tasks in the real test; aim for about 15 minutes here.
You must include
- • Say where you saw the course advertised
- • Ask about the schedule and length of the course
- • Ask about the cost and what equipment is included
- • Ask how to register
