CELPIP-General vs CELPIP-General LS

Paragon offers two versions of the general CELPIP test. Booking the wrong one is an expensive mistake, so check which one your application requires before you register.

CELPIP-General

Tests all four skills — Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking — in about three hours. It is designated by IRCC for permanent residence applications and is accepted by many professional bodies.

CELPIP-General LS

Tests only Listening and Speaking, in about one hour. It is used for Canadian citizenship applications, which require proof of Listening and Speaking ability.

Practising for each

The Listening and Speaking sections are the same style in both tests, so all of our Listening and Speaking practice applies to General LS. For CELPIP-General you also need Reading and Writing practice.
