CELPIP Writing Practice

CELPIP Writing has two tasks in about 53 minutes: an email and a survey response. Practise both here with the official-style timer and word counter, compare your answer with a model answer, and get feedback on what to fix.

The two Writing tasks

  • Task 1 — Writing an Email: about 27 minutes, 150–200 words.
  • Task 2 — Responding to Survey Questions: about 26 minutes, 150–200 words, choosing one of two options.

What raters look for

Official CELPIP Writing is assessed on content and coherence, vocabulary, readability, and task fulfillment. In practice this means: answer every bullet point, organise ideas into clear paragraphs, use precise words, and keep the right tone for the reader.

How feedback works here

Every submission gets an instant free score from a rule-based checker (word count, task coverage, structure). Signed-in users can request an AI-estimated practice score with criterion-by-criterion feedback and a rewritten version of their answer. AI scores are practice estimates, not official CELPIP scores.
