CELPIP Practice: What to Do Before Test Day

The last week before CELPIP is about confidence and routine, not cramming. Here is a practical checklist — our own advice — plus reminders to confirm official rules on celpip.ca.

One week before

  • Take one full mock in exam order: Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking.
  • Review mistakes rather than taking many more tests.
  • Practise each Speaking task type at least once with timers.

The day before

Do light practice only — one or two Speaking tasks out loud. Check your booking confirmation, the test centre address and the ID requirements on the official website. Sleep well.

On test day

Arrive early. During the headset check, adjust the volume until speech is clear. In Listening, remember the audio plays once: keep writing keywords. In Speaking, start talking as soon as recording begins.
